Excerpt from Brown Alumni Monthly, Vol. 59: March, 1959 The lower żoor of Manning Hall served as the University library from 1835 until 1878, when Robinson Hall was erected. It then became an Art Museum and finally, as in the case of the upper żoor, was converted to classroom use. The University also has had plans drawn for the eventual altera tion of lower Manning, as we shall see below.
