The book is both a military history and a business book. It uses the story of World War One to illustrate common business situations and problems, and the outcomes of making both good and bad decisions. The book follows the story of how World War One unfolded, and how each of the major belligerents approached the war, and how their initial plans played out. It does this in a manner easy to read and understand. As the story of the war unfolds, I make numerous analogies and comparisons from the historical story to the modern business world. Readers can see how their situations are similar to the historical ones, and how the same kinds of decisions, made for similar reasons, will have similar results. Between the chapters are specific ideas and tips on both how to and how not to handle typical yet critical business issues.
