When Sheila Traventi discovers she's pregnant with her second child, she's ecstatic. Happily married to her handsome husband, Richard, and the mother of a two- year-old boy, Tim, the future can only be promising. That's until genetic testing uncovers a problem with her fetus forcing her to make a difficult decision. When it comes time to leave the hospital, she is overcome with grief and impulsively steals her dead baby's body.
