Asthma morbidity and mortality are on the rise. The increaseof asthma in the pediatric setting is startling. Asthma is noted tohave a higher prevalence in minority and low- income individualscompared with their more advantaged peers. With this increase inasthma morbidity and mortality in Hispanic children the health careprofession is left with the task of identifying exacerbatingfactors.
