One of the essential characteristics of life is the exchange of matter and energy between organisms and their environment. Radiation is one form of energy that has always existed in nature and will always be the companion of human beings throughout life. Technically, radiation protection is the measure to reduce exposure to radiation, and radiation dosimetry is the measurement of radiation doses.
