The book examined the state of service delivery by§the South Africa public service. In this§respect, selected South African public service§organizations where examined using the case§study and triangulation approaches. It was evident§that conventional approaches of§leadership, have singularly failed in their§application by the South African public service. It§was also clear that there where weaknesses of§governance principles in aspects of the public§service. It was evident that sustainable public§service delivery by the South African public§service required a consideration of local narratives§and local issues that needed to be§integrated within the current leadership and§governance framework. The findings indicated§that traditional African leadership and governance§values have not been fully integrated by§South African public service organizations. The book§suggests that traditional African§leadership and governance values (particularly moral§and ethical leadership and good§governance principles) can positively influence the§South African public service. A§transformative African leadership and governance§model was thus devised for adoption by§the South African public service.
