As the authorities decided to clean up the city and a zero-tolerance policy towards graffiti was instituted, a group of kids got together to taste the last of the cityżs painted subway trains. The RIS crew was determined to keep the trains colourful and decided to wage their own war with the city. As a result, they took over New York with style, and along the way became one of the worldżs most important and influential graffiti crews. Alain żKETż Maridueńa is the author of several books on graffiti: Graffiti Planet and Part One: The Death Squad. He is a frequent lecturer at universities and conferences around the world on the topic of graffiti. Cousin Frank is a painter of both canvas and train. Heżs recognized for his original style and vibrant color combinations. His artwork is exhibited both in esteemed galleries and on the sides of the trains. He has been painting graffiti for over 30 years.
